On 2 November, ‘A New House’, a documentary, was shown in the office of the Open Society Georgia Foundation (OSGF).
In 2011, Hand in Hand, an organization, opened a family type home for 10 persons with disabilities (PWD) in Gurjaani. The project was supported by the OSGF. Maia Shishniashvili, head of the organization, provided her own house for PWD. The latter talk in the film about their daily life in the house and tell their stories.
The management of the organization repaired the house with the help of the OSGF and trained the recruited staff. This type of home is the first of a kind in the post Soviet Union countries.
The documentary about the home in Gurjaani was made by Levan Adamia, a film director, as part of the Law, Media and Health Initiative.
