Since June 2013 the International Institute for Education Policy, Planning and Management (EPPM) with the support from the Civil Society Support Program of the Open Society Georgia Foundation (OSGF) has implemented a project „Strategic Development of High Education and Science in Georgia – Reform Supporting Platform Creation”.
The project aims to help public institutions and interested audience in the development of the strategic plan for the transformation of the higher education sector.
As part of the project the situation in the education sphere was analyzed. Five strategic directions were surveyed:
§ Academic freedom and university autonomy
§ Financial management for higher education and research
§ Integration of research and teaching
§ Job placement of graduates
§ Quality management and evaluation
