Former military servants get familiar with the fundamentals of business

The participants of the project “Retraining and Promotion of Self-employment of Former Military Servants” of Economic Development Program will get familiar with the fundamentals of business. 

Open society Georgia Foundation Economic Development Program is implementing the project “Retraining and Promotion of Self-employment of Former Military Servants” which aims at supporting victims of social-economic processes in the country, namely, military servants discharged from offices during structural reorganizations in 2003, by familiarizing them with the new processes and offering new prospects towards re-socialization.

Within the framework of the project “Retraining and Promotion of Self-employment of Former Military Servants” former military servants will be trained; they will acquire business management skills; the project participants will be provided with the consultations with the purpose of harmonizing their business plans with the bank requirements.

During the trainings and consultations the participants will be capable of enhancing presentation skills and techniques. They will elaborate their own business plan presentation.

At the first stage of the project the participants will undergo a two-day introductory course on business fundamentals. The goal of the introductory course is to familiarize the participants with the fundamentals of business management. The lectures include following topics: entrepreneurship and its types; fundamentals of marketing; description of market; products, pricing; communicational enterprise management fundamentals; introductory course to financial management.

The course will be of general character organized in lectures and followed by discussions. The key aim of the introductory course is to provide particular information to the participants about entrepreneurship after which they will undergo intensive study course and draft business plans.
