Monitoring construction of Georgian Parliament building in Kutaisi

On April 23, 2012 Georgian Young Lawyers’ Association presented to the public results of monitoring of the construction process of Georgian Parliament building in Kutaisi that was prepared with financial support of Open Society Institutes.

Based on public information obtained from various administrative agencies GYLA studied and analyzed whether service procurement process for construction works is being conducted in lawful manner and according to the existing legal procedures; how effective and expedient is spending of allotted funds, etc.

In the process of monitoring there were revealed problems regarding assess to public information, unreasonable readdressing to other authorized agencies, violation of dates of issuance of information, etc.
