Position: Civil Society Support Program ManagerOrganization: Open Society Georgia FoundationLocation: TbilisiDeadline: December 22, 2008. 12:00

Key functions: Program management; planning, implementation and monitoring of the program activities; coordination of program directions; supervision of grant and operational projects; preparation of program activity reports.

Main Duties:

–   Analyze existing situation and events within the program field;
–   Develop program strategy;
–   Analyze and describe profiles of key actors within the program field;
–   Coordinate activities and exchange information with other donors in the field;
–  Monitor and evaluate program directions;
–  Monitor current and implemented project outcomes within the program scope;
–  Analyze and pre-assess grant proposals;
–  Monitor implementation of contracts with the grantees;
–  Other activities that are in the interest of the foundation and the program.

The candidates shall meet the following criteria:

Education:
University Degree in Social Sciences or related field (Master’s Degree is Desirable)

Experience, practical knowledge and skills:

–   Minimum three years experience in program management;
–   Minimum five years experience in working for a local or international Non Governmental organizations;
–   Vision of existing trends in the field in Georgia;
–   Staff management skills and relevant experience;
–   Ability to draft standard papers;
–   Ability to plan, coordinate and control the program activities;
–   Experience in issuing or managing grants;
–   Excellent knowledge of computer programs (MS office);
–   Excellent knowledge of Georgian, English and Russian languages;
–   Leadership and organizational skills;
–   Communicative, ability to work independently and under pressure;
–    Experience in developing budget and dealing with financial papers.

Accountability:

Civil Society Support Program Manager is answerable to the Executive Director.

Salary:

Salary will be established commensurate with the candidate’s salary history, qualification and professional experience.Announcement: Interested persons shall submit their applications to the foundation’s secretariat in a sealed envelop containing the following documents in Georgian:

Selection procedure: candidates will be selected on a competition basis. The applications will be reviewed by the foundation’s selection committee at the several levels: The foundation will contract only successful short listed applicants prior to February 1, 2009. The final c will be drawn by the selection committee after the interviews with selected candidates.
