Russian-Georgian Conflict: Causes, Effects, Perspectives – Collected Articles have been Published 

Authors of the collection of articles under the title of Russian-Georgian Conflict: Causes, Effects, Perspectives have presented their work to the audience gathered in the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs. 

Publication of the collection under the title of Russian-Georgian Conflict: Causes, Effects, Perspectives has been anticipated by Georgian society. Today it has been presented in Georgian Institute of Public Affairs by its authors.  

This collection is the very first publication issued by Russia-Georgia Conflict Research Center established last year by the School of Law and Politics of the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs. Publication has been supported by the Open Society – Georgia Foundation and has been edited by Mr. Bakur Kvashilava, Dean of the School of Law and Politics and reviewed by Messrs. Irakli Menagharishvili, Zviad Koridze, Zurab Abashidze, Bakur Kvashilava and Tornike Sharashenidze.  

Chronology of Georgian-Ossetian Conflict, review of Abkhazia Conflict history, foreign policy of Russia in former Soviet Union countries, reverse of democracy development in Russia, development of mass media and democratic trends – these are the main subjects dealt with in the Collection.  

Audience present appraised initiative of such publication and expressed the hope that work in this direction shall be continued. Authors welcome conduction of as many discussion meetings around the subjects raised by the Collection as possible and express their readiness to answer many questions interested readers may ask.  

Research Center will carry on with studies on Russian-Georgian conflict. Soon second publication by the center will be issued.
