The Health Care Law is a well-known and recognized field in the world, but only now it is formatting in Georgia.
The Health Care Law unites rights and obligations of patients and doctors, rights and freedoms of marginalized groups, acting legislation that operates in the field of health care, clerical work in the court in terms of harm compensation etc.
Open Society Georgia Foundation, with in the frameworks of the project “Law, Media and Health” invited Georgian and American experts, who started working on the “Health Care Law” textbook. The textbook will help lawyers in heir working process, giving them opportunity to have all acting laws in health care and social field in one book.
The first meeting was held by Instructor Juddy Overal from USA in the office of Open Society Georgia Foundation on 13 July 2007. The textbook will be compiled by Nino Kiknadze, OSGF “Law, Media and Health” project co-coordinator; ZaZa Meishvili, vice-chairman of the Supreme Court of Georgia; Alexander Imedashvili, Didube-Chugureti district public prosecutor; Kakha Aslanishvili, the president of Georgian lawyers association; Mamuka Jibuti, dean of public health care at State Medical University), Nino Mirzikashvili, head of department of regulation at the Minister of Health, Labor and Social Welfare;  Maka Kvachadze, main expert of the project “assistance to the public diffender of Georgia”.
