The power of local initiatives

25 Apr, 2018

The documentary tells the story of community self-organization in Georgia prior to the Soviet occupation of 1921. It showcases how individuals were striving for empowering their communities to self-organize or mobilize around the issues effecting them on light of pressure of Soviet rule (1921–1991).

The documentary disperses beliefs that Georgian communities have never had the capacity to mobilize or implement local initiatives and that active citizenship is something that has always been missing from Georgian culture.
